Privacy Policy

MathInSite is built to be genuinely private. You don't need an account, we don't ask for personal information, and we don't sell or share your data. This page explains exactly what is and isn't collected when you use the site.

The Short Version

What We Collect

We use Clicky, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the site is used โ€” for example, how many people visit each calculator and which pages are most helpful. Clicky records general, non-identifying information such as page views, approximate region (country/city level), referring website, browser type, and device type. This helps us decide which tools to improve and what to build next.

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers, and we have no way to tie analytics data back to you as an individual.

Your Calculations Stay in Your Browser

Every calculator runs entirely in your own browser. The values you enter โ€” your numbers, equations, and data sets โ€” are used to compute results on your device and are never transmitted to us or stored on our servers.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember one small preference: whether you've chosen light or dark mode. This setting stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. Our analytics provider, Clicky, may set cookies to measure visits; you can block these through your browser settings without affecting the calculators.

Advertising

MathInSite may display advertisements served through Google AdSense to help support the cost of running the site. When active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can review or adjust how Google personalizes ads for you at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of personalized advertising more broadly at aboutads.info. Turning off personalization does not stop ads from showing โ€” it just means the ads you see may be less tailored to you.

Affiliate Links

Some pages may include affiliate links โ€” for example, to a graphing calculator model relevant to a topic on that page. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, MathInSite may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we believe are genuinely useful for the math you're studying, and affiliate relationships never influence which calculators we build or the accuracy of our content. Any page containing an affiliate link discloses it on that page.

Third-Party Services

MathInSite relies on a small number of third-party services to function:

What We Don't Do

Children's Privacy

MathInSite is an educational resource intended to be safe for students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no account is required and no personal data is requested, the site can be used without sharing identifying information.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected clearly on this page.
